Before & After: A House to Fit a Growing Family
Design
This playful project was designed with a young couple moving from their Manhattan apartment into a Brooklyn brownstone. During the renovation, our construction scope expanded as the family grew with kids. Along with interior renovations and reprogramming the space, an existing rear extension was redesigned and enlarged.

Before
The existing kitchen was located in the rear extension. When we enlarged the extension, we moved the living room to the rear, allowing us to centralize the kitchen at the center of the floor.

The original interior details were composed of mismatched and dark wood finishes, creating dark spaces. Our solution was to brighten the house with lighter colors and finishes, enlarging existing openings, and creating new ones.

Before
We expanded the rear addition, added a rear deck, and refinished the rear yard. This created a chic, comfortable space for the family to entertain and enjoy the outdoors.
