Let There Be Sunlight!
We often team up with Brooklyn-based Sunburst Studios to recreate historic leaded glass. In this Brooklyn Heights townhouse, we worked together to create a lay light that acts as a decorative filter between the exterior skylight and interior space. These process photos show how hands-on collaboration results in unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
1. The skylight as we found it.
2. First, we made a measured the size of the skylight well.
3. Then, we selected colors for the new window.
4. Designing the specifics of the window was the next step.
5. Once we had the window designed, we made a scale mock-up to check fit.
6. Tracing the design onto paper allowed production to begin.

Once installed, the skylight brought a touch of the home's original character and allowed light to pour down through the stairwell.
