BIA Interiors Feature: Weitzner

When designing a powder room in a Manhattan passive house, BIA Interiors wanted the wall coverings to make a statement. Sonnet, a handmade wallpaper from Weitzner Limited's Melodia Collection, provided a unique opportunity for us to play with both paint and wallpaper simultaneously.

Inspired by geometry, nature and classical sounds, the natural fiber wallpaper displays an open work trellis pattern. Great care was taken to apply the delicate pattern, using a syringe to apply adhesive. We juxtaposed the delicate gold lattice pattern against a dark paint color. Dark paint creates a sense of drama and motion in this small powder room. The textured paper adds dimension and character to the space.
