CBS New York Highlights Passive House

Decarbonizing the built environment is imperative to mitigate the effects of climate change.
For over a decade, our firm has committed to discovering actionable solutions to lower carbon emissions of our projects. We've found that Passive House construction has been the most effective method to ensure that the homes we design, primarily masonry retrofit projects, are healthy, quiet, and most importantly, low carbon.
Michael Ingui recently welcomed Hannah Kliger of CBS New York into his house – a Passive House brownstone in Carroll Gardens that is one of the first Passive Houses we completed – to talk about the benefits of passive construction.
We're honored to be featured alongside groundbreaking developers Alloy Development, who plan to bring a new passive house skyscraper to Downtown Brooklyn. Across all construction scales, Passive House is a pathway to a more sustainable built environment in New York City and beyond.

Downtown Brooklyn's skyline could be getting a new addition. A new passive house skyscraper at the crossroads of State Street, Third Avenue, and Flatbush Avenue – called The Alloy Block – is expected to make it the most sustainable block in the New York City borough.
